This Thanksgiving we all have things to be thankful for, especially those of us who are safe in our warm homes enjoying the Holidays with loved ones. I think all too often we take our lives for granted. Not everyone has a warm place to live, food on the table, or loved ones to spend the holidays with. Sometimes even those who DO have places to be on the holidays are unfortunately not home with family. They are spending their time working and keeping us safe. Whether its the safety of our country, or the safety in our cities. The Police, Fire, EMT, Hospital, Military, Border Patrol, and Coast Guard, just to name a few, are the men and women who never sleep, and never take holidays off. The sacrifices they make at the expense of themselves and their families, can at times, go unappreciated by the rest of us who are unaware or simply forget that their lives are something we can’t even begin to understand.
To me, the love story of Lindsay & Spenser is simply remarkable. Their Casa Larga Wedding marks the beginning of their legal lives together but their story doesn’t actually start there. Early on they became High School sweethearts and to most of us you’d think the “rest is history” but not quite. While in High School Spenser decided that he wanted to serve our country and join the Marines. An incredible sacrifice for a young man to be making. The two of them remained very much in love even when he was halfway around the world. Years passed until he had finally fulfilled his duty to our country and came back home to Rochester. Spenser is now a respected officer with the RPD and spends his time on the streets of our city alongside the other men and women who make daily sacrifices to help keep our city safe. Putting their lives on the line for our country and now for our city, Spenser and his groomsmen have earned my deepest respect for their courage, dedication, and fearlessness performing a job that few people could ever do. Spenser and Lindsay are one of my favorite wedding love stories we’ve ever had the privilege to photograph. This thanksgiving I will be thinking of all the men and women who won’t be home with loved ones. The ones making sacrifices and putting their lives on the line in an effort to keep us healthy and safe.
Happy Holidays and thank you both for having us be a part of your amazing day.
